Pig:Giving Birth

Our mother pig has just gave birth. It took 3 days of her labor since it was her first time. She got a hard time because all her babies came out with legs first. I was not able to get pictures of babies coming out from her vagina because she might get scared of the camera flashes.

As soon as baby pigs were cleaned up, a veterinarian cut their first teeth so that it would not grow sharp and hurt the mother while on breast feeding.

This is called a "bahay bata".

At last, the agony has ended. A four healthy piglets.
